What is Happy Knights Prash?
A prash (also called avaleha or leha) is a semi-solid Ayurvedic preparation in which herbs are cooked down into a honey, jaggery or ghee base until they form a thick paste. Chyawanprash is the form most people know. The base is not filler — in Ayurvedic pharmacy it acts as the carrier that holds the herbal extracts and makes them keep.

Chew it slowly rather than swallowing it whole. Do not exceed one teaspoon a day — with a honey-based preparation, a larger dose mostly means more sugar, not more benefit.

What to expect, and when
Preparations of this type work gradually and are taken as a course, not as a single dose. Bioqem Pharma’s recommended course is four to six weeks of daily use. Individual response varies with age, diet, sleep and general health, and no herbal preparation acts immediately.

Who should not take it
- Children under 18. This is an adult preparation.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women.
- Anyone with diabetes or advised to limit sugar. This is a honey-based paste and is high in sugars. Check with your doctor first.
- Anyone on regular prescription medication — particularly thyroid, blood-pressure, blood-thinning or sedative medication. Ashwagandha and Shilajit can interact with several drug classes.
- Anyone with a known allergy to bee products, because of the honey and Royal Jelly.
- Before planned surgery — stop at least two weeks beforehand and tell your surgeon.
Side effects
Mild digestive discomfort, loose stools or acidity are the most commonly reported effects, usually when taken on an empty stomach or above the stated dose. Warming ingredients such as ginger and saffron may not suit everyone in hot weather.

How to check your pack is genuine
Herbal men’s wellness products are among the most commonly counterfeited and adulterated supplement categories anywhere — typically by adding undeclared pharmaceutical ingredients to a product sold as purely herbal. Five checks before you take anything from this category, wherever you bought it:
- Licence number on the pack. A genuine Ayush product carries a manufacturing licence number and the manufacturer’s full address. No licence number, no purchase.

Is it safe to take every day?
It is intended as a daily preparation taken as a four to six week course, at one teaspoon a day. Do not exceed that quantity. It is not suitable for children, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or without medical advice if you have diabetes or take regular prescription medication. See the precautions section above.
Can I take it with my prescription medicine?
Check with your doctor first. Herbal preparations can interact with prescription medicines. Ashwagandha and Shilajit in particular are worth mentioning to your doctor if you take thyroid, blood-pressure, blood-thinning or sedative medication. Stop at least two weeks before any planned surgery.
Does it contain sugar? Can diabetics take it?
Yes, it is a honey-based paste and is high in sugars by weight. If you have diabetes or have been advised to limit sugar, speak to your doctor before taking it. This applies to every prash-form preparation, not just this one.
Is it vegetarian?
It is vegetarian but not vegan. It contains honey and Royal Jelly, both of which are bee products. Anyone with a bee product allergy should avoid it.
